My favorite part of family shoots is when I get to shoot just the mom and dad. Love doesn’t expire and just because you aren’t a bride and groom doesn’t mean you don’t need pictures of yourself with the one you love. To me..that love over time gets even stronger. The sparks…they still fly!! Ow ow!!

Yes they bought this to hang over their bed. ME to the freakin OW!! LOOOOVEEE it.

On Monday I had the opportunity to hang out all day with some super amazing photographers at my second PLAYshop. It was a BLAST!! Despite the gloom and doom forecast for the day - the rain stopped just as my super sweet couple, Shelley and Andy, showed up to be photographed. Thank you girls for taking time out of your busy day to come PLAY with me. I hope you had a great time and learned a lot.

On a side note - I got lots of emails from people who wanted to be attend Monday but with first day of school landing this week was not able to. ALL of these pictures were taken either on my street, on a driveway, or at my community pool. Just goes to show you that no matter what location you are given - the possibilities are endless. Hopefully something you can learn if you attend a PLAYshop of mine.

I’m giving you a healthy dose of families this week…here is another family favorite of mine. These kiddos happen to be the kids of my good friend Emily who makes those AMAZING blankets I was telling you about. Seriously - if you haven’t been by her site, Lanie Lou Designs, yet - DO IT!! It’s AWESOME!!!

I love how my clients pretty much let me do whatever I want with them. This time Emily’s only request is that we get some shots of of Sydnie’s communion dress…I would say a CHECKMARK DONE to that.

I love this shot…especially with her bracelet in it!!

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph one of the most remarkable events of my career.  It was my first (and hopefully not last) Birth Story. No doubt probably one of the most emotional things I’ve ever photographed. I hope that you enjoy the slide show I put together of his birth story. All of the pictures were taken on a blanket that I purchased from my good friend, Emily, who owns Lanie Lou Designs. This woman is so incredibly talented she makes these bibs and blankets that are OUT OF THIS WORLD! She’s already spoiled me and gifted me two sets for Jillian. CAN YOU SAY… I’M IN HEAVEN!!!!! Go check her stuff out - It’s AMAZING!
